Dear all,

this is the call for action launched by a group of librarians in the Iasi County Library, a long-standing partner of Biblionet. They are about to be evicted from the Culture Palace where they have been located for a long time, because of construction works. No alternative headquarters have been proposed, however, which means that the library is left hanging dry, and patrons will not have any way of knowing where to find them, or have access to their services.

“Hi! My name is Bogdan and I’m a librarian
from Iași County, Romania. Due to the local authorities’apathy, our
County Library will soon be evicted out of its location and closed.To
prevent that from happening, I invite you, people from all over the world…who
c are about libraries, to help me produce a movie clip similar to
those of Matt Harding (see below). I ask of you to film yourself
in front of one of your local attraction places, holding a plate on
which is written: Biblioteca Județeană Iași merită un sediu.That
means: Iași County Library deserves a proper location and it would be
great to hear you saying that in your mother tongue and record it.
Then please send me your movie clip, your name and location on my e-mail:

Our colleagues need help, let’s do it! We can show local authorities that people around the world care more about a Romanian library than they do!
